Bothwell Besieged

Step into the summer of 1301, as Bothwell Castle endured a momentous siege at the hands of the English Army led by Edward I.

Discover more about the brutal siege techniques used during the Wars of Independence, learn about the important role played by the mighty siege engine ‘le berefrey’ and get up close to some of the objects and artefacts from the period.
