Fragments of Black

Kelso Abbey,

Fragments of Black composer Michael Nyman
The second in a trilogy of unique concerts and distinct art installations inspired by the Hawick Missal Fragment.

‘Fragments of Black’ brought the story from Jedburgh into the twilight and the night of Kelso Abbey. An evening of light, sound and song with new music created by internationally acclaimed award winning composer Michael Nyman was enjoyed.

The evening began with a concert at Kelso Old Parish Church. Video, imagery and sound all featured in the performance. The evening continued at Kelso Abbey to experience the art installation set against a musical background. Art installations have been devised by Fragments Artistic Director, Tim Fitzpatrick of The Red Field.

This concert took place in September 2013. Search our events page for upcoming events.
