We're changing

We are creating a new public body, Historic Environment Scotland, which will come into effect from 1 October 2015. While we work on shaping our future we can reassure you that all services and products will continue as normal. We will continue to keep you up to date on developments. Please follow our progress and find out more about our new organisation.

More than the daily grind

Skara Brae Prehistoric Village, 12 September 2015, 13 September 2015

There’s more to grain processing than laboriously grinding it into flour every day to make bread. Find out how the first farmers processed grain into ale 5000 years ago, using the same ingredients that we use today: malted barley, herbs instead of hops, water and yeast.

Time: 12 noon to 4.00pm

This event is included in the normal admission price. Tickets can be bought on the day or online in advance to beat the queues.
