St. Margaret's Chapel is available for small intimate wedding ceremonies.
The beautifully preserved 12th century chapel is the oldest building in Edinburgh Castle and indeed in Edinburgh.
King David I built the building in 1130 as a private chapel for the royal family and dedicated it to his mother, Margaret, who died in the castle in 1093.
The cobbled area outside St Margaret’s Chapel affords panoramic views of the city of Edinburgh and beyond - perfect for your wedding photographs.
For that very special moment when you plan to propose to that special person, Edinburgh Castle can offer the perfect setting!
