Parking and courtesy vehicle

Parking is available on the castle esplanade and includes disabled spaces.

Costs:
  • Car parking, max 4 hours. Cars £2.00.
  • Coach parking, maximum 4 hours. Coaches £5.00
  • Free coach parking for groups of 11 persons or more.
Visitors with disabilities may be offered the site's courtesy vehicle, sponsored by the Bank of Scotland.

Tours

Free guided tours and children's trail are available. Audio guide for hire.

A computer based virtual tour of the Castle is available in the Unicorn Café. The tour enables visitors to see inside all of the Castle’s buildings including those to which access is difficult and to hear about the people who lived in them.

Access

Courtesy bus for visitors who have difficulty with steep inclines/steps. Apartments in the castle are accessible apart from the Museum of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders. Medieval kitchens and Elphinstone Tower not suitable for visitors using wheelchairs.

Braille information boards are on display.

Gifts and refreshments

Shops contain a variety of souvenirs, books, whisky, jewellery and tapestry products. Unicorn Cafe provides a delicious menu of traditional hot and cold food.

Bringing dogs

Dogs (except for for guide dogs and assistance dogs) are not permitted in the castle.

All our properties close on the 25th & 26th December & 1st & 2nd January. Stirling Castle however will be open from 11am to 5pm on January 1st and as normal from January 2nd.

Visit www.stirlingcastle.gov.uk Adult £9.00, Child £5.40, Concession £7.20

Last ticket sold 45 min before closing time. Regimental Museum closes 45 min before the castle.
