Facilities & access

Parking is available on the adjacent busy street.

The grounds are accessible to visitors using wheelchairs although help may be needed to cross foundation stones.

The primary display of carved stones in the visitor centre is accessible but there are four steps to the shop and a further four steps to the secondary display of post reformation grave stones.

St Rule’s Tower is not suitable for visitors with physical disabilities.

Disabled toilet facilities are provided in the west cloister range, accessed by a token available from the cathedral shop.

All our properties close on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Please telephone to check for New Year opening.

Last ticket sold 30 min before closing time. Please note St Rule's tower closes at 3pm in December & January due to light conditions.

Some of the smaller monuments may close for a short period over lunch. Please telephone to check.

At weekends there may be sites closed at short notice due to adverse weather conditions or other reasons out with our control. While every effort will be taken to keep this information as current as possible, it might not appear on the website. Please telephone to check.
