Probably built in the 15th century, and re-modelled between 1550 and 1579.

Renowned as the home of Sir John Scot, author of 'Scot of Scotstarvit’s Staggering State of the Scots Statesmen'.

It is a particularly handsome and well-built tower.

A key is available from nearby NTS Hill of Tarvit Mansion House which is open from 1st April to 31st October, Thursday - Monday from 1.00 p.m. to 5. 00 p.m. (last entry at 4.15 p.m.). Access at other times may be possible if arranged in advance by contacting NTS Kellie Castle on 0844 493 2184.
