Getting into the Spirit of the Whisky Kitchen at Dallas Dhu DistilleryMedia Releases
Lovers of Scotland’s national drink and of great Scottish cooking will be served up a treat at Dallas Dhu Historic Distillery on Saturday 2nd May. To coincide with the Strathspey Whisky Festival, the authors of ‘Whisky Kitchen’ - Graham Harvey and Sheila McConachie - will be at the distillery near Forres to host a special cookery demonstration and sign copies of their award-winning book. The couple, who run the Craggan Mill restaurant in Speyside, will also be presenting a unique recipe which they have created using the Dallas Dhu 1982 malt.

Historic Scotland Credit Crunch Busting Offer - Families to make their own HistoryMedia Releases
Historic Scotland today, Wednesday 29 April 2009, launched their Make Your Own History campaign to encourage Scots to make the most of their country’s heritage. Monarch of the Glen star Hamish Clark and Michael Russell, Minister for Culture, External Affairs and the Constitution joined children at Edinburgh Castle to highlight what Historic Scotland’s leading visitor attractions have to offer. With the current financial climate meaning one in five people are planning on holidaying at home, Historic Scotland is aiming to make it easier and cheaper for families to experience their leading attractions.

Python to Guide Doune Castle VisitorsMedia Releases
Monty Python has made a permanent return to Doune Castle. Terry Jones, who co-directed comedy classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail, is the voice of the new audio guide introduced this week. Much of the movie was filmed at Doune and it has been a place of pilgrimage for fans ever since, with HS having hosted a series of Python-themed events there in the past.

Free Entry to Stanley Mills for the Festival of the RiverMedia Releases
Visitors can enjoy free entry to Stanley Mills and have a great afternoon at the second annual Festival of the River. The 18th-century water mill complex outside Perth is hosting the community festival between noon and 4pm on Sunday, 17 May. But entry charges for the visitor centre will be waived for the whole day – meaning two adults and two children can save £15.
