Four Scottish houses selected by Historic Scotland are to feature in the ITV series Britain’s Secret Homes. Traquair House in the Borders, Mousa Broch in Shetland, Rock House in Edinburgh and Knap of Howar in Orkney will all appear in the series, which examines 50 of the UK’s most interesting houses.

Visitors to Bothwell Castle this Sunday (16 June) will be able to learn more about Renaissance life in Scotland with a day of royal revelry. They will be given the opportunity to re-live the spectacle of knights clashing in combat, see costumed performers parading the fashions of the day and try their hands at archery, among other things.
