50 more sites to be scheduled in ShetlandMedia Releases
Around fifty more sites are likely to be scheduled for the first time in Shetland, following a visit throughout May by Historic Scotland’s Scheduling and Marine team. The team was in the islands to assess which sites are of national importance and should be added to the Schedule, which means they are protected by law.

Join the Defenders of the Faith at Aberdour Castle this SundayMedia Releases

During the summer of 1651, Oliver Cromwell’s invading army had taken control of the south of Scotland. With the Scots army based at Stirling and blocking the main route north, Cromwell had no option but to risk moving east through Fife.
