Clash of arms at DirletonMedia Releases
Historic Scotland takes visitors on a journey back to 1297 with a special event being held at East Lothian’s Dirleton Castle. The De Vaux’s of Dirleton on 22 June will explore a period in time when the De Vaux family were in residence at the castle and the lives they led during a time of political unrest in Scotland.

Culture Minister visits Auchinleck Summer ProjectMedia Releases
Culture Minister Linda Fabiani MSP visited members of Auchinleck Summer Project today (Friday). The 18 young people built a garden as a memorial to the men who died working in Ayrshire’s mines over the past two centuries. A local competition to design the garden was won by Jay Spiers from Auchinleck Primary School and Jamie Dabronski from Auchinleck Academy.

Go ahead for 12m Stirling Castle projectMedia Releases
Historic Scotland has announced it is to go ahead with a £12 million project to return the royal lodgings at Stirling Castle to their Renaissance magnificence. The result will be a major new attraction that is predicted to raise castle visitor numbers to around 480,000 a year – compared to around 398,000 in 2007-08.
