Stirling Castle - The Road to Bannockburn

(L-R) James Brown, 10, Lily Simpson, 9 and Dan George, 10, all from Stirling prepare for battle at Stirling Castle ahead of The Road to Bannockburn which takes place at the castle on 24 and 25 May from 12 noon - 4.00pm.

The event will give visitors the chance to learn more about the story behind the Battle of Bannockburn. Scottish and English soldiers will be setting up camp, while there will be weaponry demonstrations, a sword school and opportunities to learn more about how the knights who fought at Bannockburn would have dressed. Visitors will also be able to hear of the tactics deployed by both sides and discover more about the injuries and trauma sustained by soldiers during the battle.
