Scotland's Historic Environment Audit (SHEA)
Scotland’s Historic Environment Audit (SHEA) is an ongoing project led by Historic Scotland which provides an assessment of Scotland’s historic environment. This includes statistics on our heritage assets (such as historic buildings, ancient monuments, archaeological sites, buildings and monuments at risk), and information on how they are changing over time.
Building on the wealth of existing information about Scotland’s historic environment, the audit also aims to identify issues relevant to the health of the historic environment and the impact of the resources used to manage and protect it.
A dedicated website has been developed to present information on the audit process and related findings and reports. Please visit
www.heritageaudit.org.uk for more information.
