Coll historic buildings recognisedMedia Releases
Coll’s Breachacha Castle has been recognised as nationally important by Historic Scotland, listing it at category A like it’s older counterpart. The two castles were studied as part of a recent survey of the island’s historic buildings.

Rowallan Castle summer toursMedia Releases

Antonine Wall gains World Heritage statusMedia Releases
Linda Fabiani, MSP, Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture, today (Tuesday, 8 July) welcomed the decision by the World Heritage Committee to grant the Antonine Wall, the Roman frontier in Scotland, World Heritage Site status. The announcement, made in Quebec, grants Scotland its fifth World Heritage Site which is its first Roman Site. The Antonine Wall becomes part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site alongside Hadrian’s Wall and the German limes.

Historic Scotland at the hand of Robert the BruceMedia Releases
Historic Scotland announce details of a re-enactment event taking place at St Andrews Castle on Sunday 20 July. At the Hands of Bruce will see the castle taken over by Robert the Bruce and his men, taking visitors back to medieval times and a period of uncertainty and unrest in Scotland.

Life on the Lion at Holyrood ParkMedia Releases
The artist-in-residence is back at Holyrood Park by popular demand with a programme of arty activities to keep visitors entertained throughout July. Life on the Lion takes place over four Sundays where artist Barbara Middleton will look at a different aspects of life at the Park including the landscape, ecology, recreation and wildlife.
