Join soldiers defending Scotland against Oliver Cromwell at Blackness Castle

Come to Blackness Castle on Saturday 19th May or Sunday 20th May from 12 noon to 4:00 pm and join one of the Scottish defending regiments as they await the invaders.

The year is 1651.  Join the castle’s embattled soldiers as they defend Scotland against Oliver Cromwell’s bloody onslaught.

Experience the sound and spectacle of the firing of cannons and musket volleys, watch the clash of pikes and swords and visit authentic military and civilian camps which will be open throughout the afternoon.

Gillian Urquhart, Assistant Events Manager at Historic Scotland said: ”This is a great way for all the family to have a fun-filled and exciting day and also learn about their history and heritage.”

The event is included in the normal admission price.
