We're changing

We are creating a new public body, Historic Environment Scotland, which will come into effect from 1 October 2015. While we work on shaping our future we can reassure you that all services and products will continue as normal. We will continue to keep you up to date on developments. Please follow our progress and find out more about our new organisation.

Joint Working Agreement

Front cover of A Joint Working Agreement Between Historic Scotland and Planning Authorities in Relation to Statutory Casework and Consultation
This draft Joint Working Agreement consists of two parts, the first is the brief agreement itself, the second is a document setting out working arrangements in more detail.

At this stage, the aspirations in the agreement are limited, and focus specifically on ensuring that our detailed involvement in Listed Building Consent responds to local policies and capacity.

However, the agreement also commits to working on a broader, more inclusive Joint Working Agreement reflecting the aspirations of ‘Our Place in Time – The Historic Environment Strategy for Scotland.’ From October 2015, Historic Environment Scotland will be getting in touch with local authorities to discuss further agreements.
