Fragments of Blue - Under One Sky

Jedburgh Abbey,

Composer Sean at Jedburgh Abbey
The first in a trilogy of unique concerts and distinct art installations inspired by the Hawick Missal Fragment.

Fragments of Blue is an exciting opportunity to hear new music from multi-award-winning young composer, Sean Doherty. Following a competition  for young composers, Sean’s composition, 'Fragment: Et clamabant', was announced as the winning entry.

The evening began with a concert at Jedburgh Old and Trinity church staging both the new composition and the original music from the fragment. Video, imagery and sound all took centre stage to animate the story of the Fragment. The evening then progressed to Jedburgh Abbey to experience the art installation set against a musical background with another stirring performance from the choir group. Find out more about the Fragments Project.

Fragments of Blue took place at Jedburgh Abbey and Jedburgh Old & Trinity Parish Church on 20 July 2013, you can see images of the event on our Facebook page.

Art installations were devised by Fragments Artistic Director, Tim Fitzpatrick of The Red Field.
