Free Education Visits

Experience history where it really happened with an education visit to a Historic Scotland Property.

Our inspirational places provide exciting opportunities for discovery and exploration for learners of all ages. From Edinburgh Castle to Skara Brae we care for over 300 prehistoric sites, castles, abbeys and industrial buildings spanning 5,000 years of Scotland’s history and culture.
Historic Scotland operates a free education visits scheme for schools, colleges, universities and other qualifying learning groups.

Self-led visits enable you to lead your visit in your own way with a range of downloadable resources available to enhance learning before, during and after the visit.

Search our places to visit page and decide where you want to go.
