Volcano Fun Day
Holyrood Park, 26 October 2013
Come along to this fun filled day where you can explore Edinburgh’s very own volcano - learn more about volcanoes of the world and even outer space.
Activities: There will be a variety of hands on stalls where you can guess the rock, create your own volcano and even make a model Earth from chocolate!
Excursions: If that’s not enough there’s an opportunity to join an easy graded excursion into the very depths of the volcano and even walk on lava.
Time: 11.00 am - 3.00 pm.
Meeting Place: Holyrood Park Education Centre
Route: Volunteers’ Walk, Camstane Quarry, St. Anthony’s Chapel. This may change.
Bring: Wear warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear (with grips) if coming on a walk.
Toilets: At the Education Centre.
Parking: At the Broad Pavement Car Park.
Suitability: activities at the Centre are wheelchair accessible. The walk involves rough paths and steep inclines. May not be suitable for children under 6 years.
