Commemorative Plaque Scheme

About the Scheme

The Commemorative Plaque Scheme is intended to celebrate the link between person and building, and to emphasise the social and human element of local architecture.

The form of a building can say a great deal about the character of the particular person who lived or worked there; it can confirm assumptions or, in other cases, come as a complete surprise, casting a new aspect on the individual concerned.

Nominations are sought for all persons whose life and achievements have made a significant difference to the Scotland and its people and who may also have gained international recognition for their impact and accomplishments.

The closing date for completed nominations is 31 January 2016 .
