Top scots apprentice stonemasons to carve out victory at Elgin Cathedral this weekendMedia Releases
Six top apprentice stonemasons from colleges in Scotland will be showcasing their skills at the Scottish Inter College Apprentice Stonemasonry competition at Historic Scotland’s Masonry Training Facility at Elgin Cathedral. The competition, sponsored by Historic Scotland and supported by Construction Skills will take place over three days, starting on Friday 3rd June. The teams, comprising of two apprentice stonemasons each, have been selected from Telford College in Edinburgh, the City of Glasgow College and Historic Scotland. The winning team will be announced on Sunday 5th June.

Get a taste of Medieval Life at Dundonald Castle this weekendMedia Releases
Dundonald Castle is hosting a two-day event this weekend, Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May, from 12:00 noon until 4:00pm, where the Historic Saltire Society will enact members of the Stewart dynasty in the late 13th century as they go about rebuilding the castle from the smouldering remains left after its deliberate burning.

Murthly Women Weave their Magic to create Historic TapestryMedia Releases
A tapestry created by a small group of six women from the Murthly WRI depicting the time of the Highland clearances, is being launched by Historic Scotland on Monday 30th May at 1:30pm at Stanley Mills. After this it will be on display in the Spinning Room at the Mill for the remainder of the season.
