Lend A Hand At Linlithgow Peel

Historic Scotland’s Ranger Service is inviting volunteers to come along this Sunday, 18 November 2007 and help out with its important work around the Peel, the Royal Park beside the magnificent Linlithgow Palace. The volunteers, who must be 16 or over, will be getting involved in a range of tasks such path building, grassland work and hedge and tree planting.

Traditional skills qualification launched

Culture Minister Linda Fabiani MSP today launched the first qualification in masonry conservation in Scotland. Speaking at Trades Hall in Glasgow, Ms Fabiani said: “Scotland’s architecture plays a vital role in our identity, culture and heritage and it is imperative that we maintain it. To do this we have to make sure that the people working on our built heritage are appropriately trained and qualified”.
