Historic Scotland inspectors are to visit the Holyrood Ward in Edinburgh to identify the city’s important buildings and to review existing listings. The team will visit locations in this ward looking for buildings that merit listing while giving a fresh appraisal to properties already on the list. This will ensure that area has the appropriate statutory protection.

Historic Scotland has appointed three new non-executive directors who will join the existing three on the agency’s board. The recent campaign to recruit the new non-executive directors attracted a high level of interest. The new non-executive directors, selected from an exceptional field of over 60 candidates, will bring additional skills, expertise and experience to the board. They will be involved in strategic decision making and policy formation affecting all aspects of Scotland’s historic environment.
