Spectacular Jousting comes to Linlithgow Palace

22 June 2011

             Linlithgow Palace - Jousting

Hear the crack of lances splintering and the thunder of hooves as the Knights of Royal England return to the magnificent setting of Linlithgow Palace on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd July and also Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th July.

Come along and cheer on your favourite knight as he challenges the other combatants in a sensational display of skill and bravery.

Gareth Cheeseman, Historic Scotland’s Events Manager said “The jousting is always so exciting. We never know which knight will win, but we do know that none of them likes losing! Along with all the medieval camps and other shows each day is packed with fun for all the family.”

As well as the jousting there will be brutal foot combat, instruction on how to be a medieval assassin and presentations about how a noble lady of the time would dress.

Around the medieval camps you’ll be able to see how medieval weapons were made at a working forge, be amused by jugglers and jesters and discover how a knight dressed for battle.

Adult: £11, Concession £8.80,  Child £6.60

Admission free to Historic Scotland members.
