Mystery over Historic Paintings of Leith - restoration project highlights differences in seascapesMedia Releases
Questions have been raised over whether a pair of oil paintings showing the port of Leith in its heyday are by the same artist. The works of art, entitled Port of Leith and A View of the Port of Leith with Arthur’s Seat in the Distance, have long been attributed to Edinburgh artist A Mitchell.

Stornoway ironwork in focusMedia Releases
The stunning ironwork of Stornoway is the focus of a new exhibition. The celebration of the amazing decorative cast ironwork will go on display at Museum nan Eilean from April 9 in a joint project between Historic Scotland and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. Historic Scotland offers great value for 2008-2009. Entry prices have been held or cut at seven great Historic Scotland attractions across the country. A new system of peak, standard and off peak ticketing specifically for Edinburgh Castle means that at certain times of the year visitors will pay the same, or less, than they do now.
