Statement on Rowallan Castle decision

15 January 2009

On January 12, 2009, Scottish Ministers announced the decision to refuse scheduled monument consent
to bring the castle into habitable use.

A spokeswoman for Historic Scotland said: "Our role is to assess the application for scheduled monument consent according to the national policies set out by Scottish Ministers. The applicant chose to take the opportunity for the application to be heard by public local inquiry for Scottish Ministers to take the final decision."
