Who can apply?Landscape Management Plans can be an informative working tool for owners of designed landscapes to explore the history and development of their site and to help them plan for the future and manage change appropriately. For designed landscapes which are in multiple ownership it is preferable that all the owners support the production of a Landscape Management Plan and can contribute to the cost, although we recognise that this is not always possible. If the owner of a particularly significant part of the landscape applies for a grant, we will consider such an application on its own merits. Sites must be included in the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes in Scotland.
CriteriaWe consider applications throughout the year on our Landscape Management Plan application form. We can award grants at rates of up to 50% (up to a maximum grant of £6,000) of the cost of preparing a plan prepared by a consultant who has an established record of such work with particular reference to historic gardens and landscapes.
