Stirling Tapestries Factsheets

Stirling Castle Palace
One of the most exciting projects being undertaken by Historic Scotland is the creation of a series of hand-woven tapestries that will eventually hang in the royal palace at Stirling Castle. In the meantime each one that is completed is displayed for visitors in the Chapel Royal. These remarkable pieces of work, which recreate a surviving set of medieval tapestries, will tell the medieval tale of the Hunt of the Unicorn. We know that tapestries telling a similar tale once graced the walls of Stirling Castle.
