Visits to our sites enable learners of all ages to engage with their local heritage, inspiring creativity and promoting health and wellbeing through outdoor learning.
We offer a regular programme of talks and guided walks for adults and hands on activities for families. Please note regular admission charges apply for some activities.

Edinburgh University Open Studies – Short Courses
As part of an on-going partnership Edinburgh Castle hosts part time courses and summer schools with entry to the castle included in course fees. For more details visit the University of Edinburgh website
Community Learning Projects
Our team of Learning Development Officers engage with community groups across the country using our sites as the focus for a diverse range of projects covering everything from citizenship to creative writing.
We can also provide extra help and support with physical or intellectual access for groups with additional support needs.
