Supervision on site
Groups including children under the age of 16 must have adequate adult supervision on site at all times. This is to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and the enjoyment of all visitors to our properties.
Adult to child ratio
We require that groups including children under the age of 16 have adequate adult supervision at all times when on site. This is to ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines and the enjoyment of all visitors to our properties.
Required ratios of children to teachers or group leaders differ depending on the age of the children and are as follows:
- 1 supervisory adult per 10 pupils/students over the age of 8 but under 16
- 1 supervisory adult per 6 children over the age of 5 but under 7
- 1 supervisory adult per 2 children under the age of 5
- for visitors with additional support needs it is suggested there is at least 1 supervisory adult per 4 visitors
Please note that under no circumstances should granted education visits be re-sold, used for commercial gain, advertised or used to provide entry to third parties or non-educational members of a given group. Any group or organisation found to be in breach of the above regulations will not be permitted entry and may be barred from accessing the scheme in the future. Where there is evidence of fraudulent activity the relevant authorities will be informed.
