Historic Scotland 2011 Staff Surveys
Wellbeing in Historic Scotland
Historic Scotland takes the wellbeing of its workforce very seriously and is the agency’s number one priority. Our people are our greatest asset, so we recognise the value in ensuring they have a safe, healthy and engaging workplace.
The agency has a dedicated steering group, tasked with ensuring wellbeing in Historic Scotland is taken seriously and seen as a priority. The Wellbeing Steering Group’s remit includes measuring staff wellbeing, raising awareness of employee assistance services, hosting focus groups to gain insight and holding events to promote healthier lifestyles. This has included a re-launch of our employee assistance programme.
In 2011, the Wellbeing Steering Group commissioned a staff survey to gain a better understanding of employee wellbeing in Historic Scotland. The results of the survey, along with the results of the yearly Civil Service staff survey, have been used to work with departments to develop action plans that can address any issues raised by colleagues.
One of the forthcoming specific action points is a series of health and well-being focus groups to build on information in the survey. These will take place over the Spring months to further inform our approach to health ,safety and well-being. We will also be re-surveying the Agency in 2013.
Historic Scotland committed to publishing the survey results in full from the outset and you can download both 2011 surveys below.
