Managing Change in the Historic Environment Guidance Notes Consultation
We are currently updating and extending our Managing Change in the Historic Environment Guidance Notes (MCGN), and in order to ensure we meet stakeholder expectations we have launched this public consultation on what we have done so far.
There are four topics covered:
Setting [pdf, 375kb]
Restoring Castles and Towerhouses [pdf, 920kb]
Microrenewables [pdf, 55kb]
Fire safety management [pdf, 50kb]
The first of these - Setting - is an up-date to our existing guidance which you can access here www.historic-scotland.gov.uk/setting.pdf
. Its primary changes are modifications made in light of casework experience.
All four documents follow broadly our existing MCGN formula, though we envisage the series finding a greater flexibility because the issues within each topic will be addressed in as focussed a way as best suits its individual needs. Thus the first two documents are familiar in their layout; while the latter two (Fire Safety and Micro-renewables) are bare texts at this stage, to be illustrated and re-shaped following this consultation period.
If you would like to contribute, please feel welcome to do so using the Consultation Response Form below.
