The castle owes its origins to Walter of Moray who, in a great display of feudal pride, set about creating a mighty fortified residence.
This venue provides an ideal setting and is suitable for Wedding Ceremonies & Photography.
Located on the first floor of the castle, the Great Hall is a magnificent open air space flanked by the majestic South East Tower.The Vault
Located below the Great Hall, the Vault is a popular option and offers a secluded space sheltered from the elements.

Religious and Humanist Weddings Ceremonies. Civil ceremonies by agreement with Registrar.
You can make your wedding photographs special by hiring Bothwell Castle specifically for your photographs, even if you are holding your ceremony elsewhere. Please note that at sites where we offer ceremonies, we do not accept photography bookings more than two months in advance of the wedding date.
