There’s lots to keep kids of all ages busy with archers to arts and crafts to Robert the Bruce and Mary Queen of Scots.

All events listed below are included in admission costs - there are no extra charges to get involved.
Men at Arms
Various Castles, 12 noon -4.00pm

Meet our resident archer or soldier every Sunday throughout July and August. Discover the weapons thatwould have been used when the castles were preparing for battle or for defence.  See if you have what it takes to make it as an archer or get hands on with the armour and weapons of the time.

Renaissance Summer
Linlithgow Palace, 12 noon - 4.00pm

Ever wondered what it would have been like to visit a magnificent palace during the Renaissance? Well this summer you can! Each weekend throughout July come along and experience the Renaissance at Linlithgow Palace - marvel at the fashions on show, listen to courtly intrigues and find out more about favourite Renaissance pastimes like archery, hunting, and feasting.

Attack the Castle
St Andrews Castle, 12 noon - 4.00pm

This summer get active - every weekend in August we want you to get hands on with history at St Andrews Castle. Each weekend you can take part in something different - make your own shield, become a master archer or join in our castle games - all that’s left for you to do is come and join us!

Games at the Castle:Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd August
Make Your Own Heraldic Shield:Sat 9th & Sun 10th August
Archery Master Class:Sat 16th & Sun 17th August
Weapons of Historic Destruction:         Sat 23rd & Sun 24th August

The Bruce Tour
Various Locations, 12 noon - 4.00pm

Robert the Bruce left his mark throughout Scotland and is considered one of Scotland's greatest ever kings. This summer, from June until August, join Robert or Edward Bruce as they recount their victory at Bannockburn and reflect on their own role in Scotland's history. Meet one of the great men and find out about the battle plans and the weaponry.
