The Mither Tongue - Scots Language Weekend
Join us for a foray into the glorious Scots language. We will have special guided tours where the history of the castle will be delivered in the “mither tongue”, family storytelling in the Great Hall with classic stories re-told in Scots and a chance to find out more about some of our nation’s favourite dishes.
We will also have “Dictionary Corner” in the Chapel Royal where we will be challenging visitors to come up with unlisted Scots words. A great event for people of all ages.
The Mither Tongue takes place on Sat 20th & Sun 21st October 2012, and is included in the castle admission price.
