Training and skills development

Fellows at work
Training and skills development is as vital as having the pre-requisite materials and knowledge available to care for the built environment.

The Technical Conservation Group take a strategic approach in working with key industry and sector partners to further the needs of the traditional sector. We work in partnership with others to raise the profile of the sector and have facilitated the development of new specialist vocational qualifications.

In specialist areas we are able to target specific needs where appropriate training or skills are limited through our Fellowship and Internship programmes. These allow us to target specific specialisms where small numbers of entrants to the field can have a a significant national impact. These have included ornamental plasterwork, engineering conservation and stained glass conservation.
