was originally established as a priory by David I and later became an abbey in 1235.
It is now the best preserved group of monastic buildings in Scotland. The island is famed for its seals, wildlife and coastal defences from two World Wars.
Today, Inchcolm Abbey provides a beautiful setting for wedding ceremonies and photography.

The Abbeys first floor Refectory boasts fantastic natural light that accentuates its arched ceiling and unique features.Chapter House
Dating back to the 13th century, this unique room is one of only three in Scotland to have been built as a centralised octagonal structure. Ideal for intimate ceremonies.The Dormitory
Located on the first floor in the east range of the Abbey, this is a long narrow room with an arched ceiling.

Please note that at sites where we offer ceremonies, we do not accept photography bookings more than two months in advance of the wedding date.
