The forthcoming Heritage Science in Scotland Conference will be officially opened by Professor Anne Glover, Chief Scientific Advisor for Scotland. The programme will include topics of interest to both scientists and non-scientists alike, including building professionals and local authorities.


The programme will  include topics such as thermal imaging (used in the condition assessment of traditional buildings), synchrotron radiation (used particularly in conjunction with earth buildings as an aid to understanding how they were constructed and how they decay) and a new tool which is in the process of being developed with olfactory ‘smell’ technology to evaluate old books without the need of invasive testing.  Please see the attached booking form for the full programme and further details of the conference.

Delegates will be free to tour the Glasgow Science Centre during coffee breaks and lunch, and there will also be an optional visit to the Digital Design Studio, Glasgow School of Art.

The delegate fee for the day is just £35 (including lunch), and students presenting a poster can register free of charge (see attached booking form for further details).
