Best re-use of a listed building to be showcased at Scottish Design AwardsMedia Releases
Architects and designers from across Scotland are being asked to showcase the best re-use of a listed building at the Scottish Design Awards. Nominations are open until Friday 11th February for this year's awards which highlight some of the best design work being carried out in Scotland. The Best Re-Use of a Listed Building Award, which Historic Scotland has sponsored for the past four years, provides a platform to look at the many projects which successfully combine old and new design, techniques and materials.

Costumed characters will take visitors back in time at Stirling's Royal PalaceMedia Releases
Mnister welcomes return of Renaissance Glory to the castle. The return of a host of Renaissance figures to Stirling Castle’s royal palace has been welcomed by Fiona Hyslop, Minister for Culture and External Affairs. Among them will be the warrior and courtier Sir Norman Leslie of Rothes, the great poet Sir David Lindsay of the Mount, and maid of honour Lady Janet Fleming.

Holyrood Park traffic initiativeMedia Releases
Historic Scotland, the City of Edinburgh Council and Lothian and Borders Police have joined forces to raise drivers’ awareness and reinforce measures to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Holyrood Park. Historic Scotland has been working closely with Edinburgh City Council to provide more visible traffic signage on all routes into and through the Park to make drivers aware that these roads are for the sole use of non-commercial traffic and taxis carying passengers.

Communities encouraged to recognise 'Historic' achievements of young peopleMedia Releases
Communities throughout Scotland are being encouraged to recognise the achievements of young people to care for and protect Scotland’s heritage. Historic Scotland is asking communities to nominate young people who have worked passionately to support and promote their heritage as part of this year’s Young Scot Awards.

£1.3m Boost to Historic BuildingsMedia Releases
Culture and External Affairs Minister Fiona Hyslop today announced more than £1.3m for five varied heritage projects. Lews Castle, Dundee’s High Mill, Newbattle Abbey College, Balloch Castle and Alexander Scott’s Hospital have all been recognised by Historic Scotland’s Building Repair Grants.
