A young descendant of a hero of the great war looks back at his braveryMedia Releases
A school visit to Edinburgh Castle in the run up to Remembrance Day will enable a 15-year old descendant of one of the heroes of the Great War to see his great-great uncle’s Victoria Cross - the British army’s highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy.

There’s a fun, free kids’ event at Edinburgh’s biggest and most popular green space - Holyrood Park - on Sunday 9th November, when local children are invited to come along and have a go at making and flying their own kites. The Ranger Service based at Holyrood Park is hosting the ‘Cool Kites’ event to encourage youngsters to get creative and make the most of the outdoors by enjoying the traditional arts of kite-making and kite-flying.

Price drops at Edinburgh CastleMedia Releases
As the temperature drops this Autumn so do the admission charges at Edinburgh Castle. This is the first year Edinburgh Castle has introduced this special off-peak seasonal scheme. As part of seasonal ‘off-peak’ pricing, prices will drop for adults to just £10.00, while concession and child rates will drop to £7.00 and £5.00 respectively.
