18 January 2013
Robert Burns was one of Scotland’s literary greats, but what exactly was he talking about? Come to Edinburgh Castle, find out all about Burns and celebrate Scotland’s Immortal Bard at one of our ‘Burns for Beginners’ events.
The Burns’ events will be taking place in the magnificent surroundings of Edinburgh Castle’s Great Hall on 2
5th, 26th and 27th January 2013.
There will be a celebration of the Scots language with signage at the castle in Scots as well as a children’s quiz in Scots, to make sure you are fully immersed in the tongue of Burns.
Nick Finnigan, Executive Manager of Edinburgh Castle said: “Come to Edinburgh Castle where you can get a crash course on everything Burns. Discover the Scots language and find out what inspired some of the Bard’s greatest works. Crowd participation is highly encouraged!”
There will also be an opportunity to taste Scotland’s finest produce, including whisky, haggis and shortbread.
