When you purchase from our websites, you will be guided through the process of placing an order by a series of simple instructions.

The total cost of your order is the price of the Product(s). Payment can be made by any of the methods specified in the Payment section of our websites and payment will be debited and cleared from your account at time of order. Prices may change at any time prior to acceptance of your order.
You confirm that the credit/debit card that is being used is yours. We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Visa Delta, Solo, Maestro (except www.edinburghcastle.gov.uk) and JCB online.
All credit/debit cardholders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by the card issuer. If the issuer of your payment card refuses to or does not, for any reason, authorise payment to us, we will not be liable for any delay or non-delivery.
Credit card transactions are made on a separate secure server, with full encryption of all credit card data. Your credit card details and personal information will not be shared with any other company or organization.
Customers will be given two options for the delivery of Products on the webstore.
1) Print at home. Customers will receive an email confirmation with their Print at home ticket(s) attached and/or order acknowledgements for souvenir and audio guide purchases attached as an Adobe PDF. Customers must print these tickets and bring them on their visit. The General Admission ticket gives entry into Edinburgh Castle.
The souvenir and audio guide print at home should be used for redemption at Visitor Information and the Audio Guide Pick Up point respectively.
2) Ticket Machine Pick Up. Customers will receive an email confirmation acknowledging their order. A confirmation number will be quoted and customers must use this when collecting tickets and/or collecting a proof of purchase ticket (for souvenir and audio guides) from the ticket machines in Edinburgh Castle. Order acknowledgements are sent to the email address provided at registration once payment has been confirmed.
If you forget your Print At Home ticket or have problems collecting tickets from our ticket machines, you must bring along proof of identity to allow Visitor Information to trace your order.
Description of Products
We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and prices of Products appearing on the Website are correct at the time when the relevant information was entered onto the system. Although we aim to keep the Website as up to date as possible, the information including Product descriptions appearing on this Website at a particular time may not always reflect the position exactly at the moment you place an order.
If a product is priced inaccurately on our site due to system or typographical errors, we reserve the right to correct any and all errors when they do occur and not to honor inaccurate or erroneous prices. Our prices are also subject to change without notice.
Faulty or damaged goods purchased both online and in our properties may be refunded or exchanged with proof of purchase within 28 days. Refunds will be made against the original form of tender where possible except in respect of sales goods. Unless product is damaged or faulty, postage costs will not be refunded. Tickets are non-refundable. Refunds may be available in special circumstances and will be made at the sole discretion of Historic Scotland.

We will make the refund to the account that was originally debited. Memberships, Explorer Passes and tickets are non-refundable. Refunds may be available in special circumstances and will be made at the sole discretion of Historic Scotland
Tickets are non-refundable. No refunds due to weather conditions, length of queues or waiting times. Audio guides are subject to refund in the event of closure of the castle which prevents access to the audio guide pick up. Refunds may be available in special circumstances and will be made at the sole discretion of Historic Scotland.
All orders are subject to availability. Once an item is sold out it will be taken off the website at the earliest opportunity and may not be available again. Membership of Historic Scotland discounts
The membership 20% discount is not applicable to life memberships, admission tickets, explorer passes, the hire of Historic Scotland properties, sale items in the online shop or the Edinburgh Castle webstore (www.edinburghcastle.gov.uk) and purchases in our cafes and restaurants.However a 10% discount is available at the catering facilities of Fort Geroge and Edinburgh, Stirling & Urquhart castles.
Members of Historic Scotland are entitled to 20% retail discount on all products except phonecards, stamps and reduced items sold in Historic Scotland shops at our properties, through our Retail Department at Longmore House and through our website. The discount does not apply at Calanais, Duff House, Dundonald Castle, Kinnaird Head Lighthouse, Skaill House or the Whithorn Trust Discovery Centre.
Historic Scotland Site Location Downloads
These product terms and conditions affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms under which Historic Scotland provides the Sat Nav Site Location Download file (the "Download") to you.
1. The Download
Sat Nav HS Sites Download (the "Download") is made available to you for download from www.historic-scotland.gov.uk. The Download provides the location details of our sites available in a format which can be transferred to compatible satellite navigation devices. The information contained in the Download is based on our GIS locations.
Although we aim to ensure that location information contained in the Download is correct, and we endeavour to update the Download on our website from time to time, we will not be responsible for any errors or omissions.
The Download is provided to you free of charge for your personal use subject to these Terms and Conditions. By using the Download you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
The Download is protected by national copyright, database and trade mark law. The Download is permitted for your personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may download and display the content of the Download on a satellite navigation device or store such content in electronic form on disk (but not any server or other storage device connected to a network).
Any copying, reproduction, lending or hiring, broadcasting or any other form of distribution of the Download is prohibited and will constitute a copyright infringement.
No licence is granted to you in these Product Terms to use any trade mark of Historic Scotland or its affiliated companies including, without limitation, the Historic Scotland trade mark.

The Download is provided by us without any warranties or guarantees that it will be compatible with all satellite navigation devices. We do not provide technical support for the Download. For guidance on how to download the file to your device, plse contact your satellite navigation manufacturer.
We do not guarantee that the Download will meet your requirements or that the service will be fault free.
We will not be responsible for any errors or omissions or any technical problems you may experience with the Download.
The Download does not include the provision of a computer of other necessary equipment to access the Download. To use the Download you will require Internet connectivity and appropriate telecommunication links. We shall not be liable for any telephone or other costs that you may incur.
We disclaim all liabilities in connection with the following:
- incompatibility of the Download with any of your equipment, software or your satellite navigation device;
- technical problems including errors or interruptions to the Download;
- unsuitability, unreliability or inaccuracy of the Download;
- inadequacy of the Download to meet your requirements.
To the full extent allowed by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable to your/or any third party for any consequential of incidental damages (including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, wasted expenditure, loss of privacy and loss of data) or any other indirect, special or punitive damages whatsoever that arise out of or are related to the Download.
