Self-led visits are free of charge enabling you to lead them your way with a range of downloadable and on-site resources available to enhance learning before, during and after.

Early Years & Primary
Specially designed activities for wee ones use multi-sensory
approaches and creative mediums to provide extra special
experiences for those first school visits!
Primary activities are wide ranging covering popular topics
like Castles and Mary Queen of Scots, other curricular
activites such as Science and Technology and the Creative
Arts and our new Discovery Sessions can be tailored for
your class project.
Our offer for secondary schools is designed with flexibility in
mind and we can cater for the needs of individual teachers,
classes or groups.
Many activities can be tailored to meet your specific
learning needs and booked on convenient dates.
As well as supporting social studies our sites are excellent
places to inspire imaginations through art, drama and
TeachersWe offer a programme of CPD events designed to develop skills in using Scotland’s Historic Environment to support delivery of Curriculum for Excellence as well as opportunities to try our activities and resources.
