We're changing

We have created a new public body, Historic Environment Scotland. While we work on shaping our future we can reassure you that all services and products will continue as normal. Please follow our progress and find out more about our new organisation.

Grant Aided Properties

The Dick Institute, Kilmarnock
Each year, Historic Scotland awards grants to help owners towards the cost of repairing many of the nation's outstanding historic buildings and structures.

Some properties are open to the public but please check in advance before your visit. The extent of public access varies from one property to another.

The purpose of these grants is to ensure:

  • the continued survival of important historic fabric

  • to enhance and preserve the appearance of outstanding conservation areas.

We hope you enjoy your visits and do contact us with feedback or if you experience problems making appointments to view the properties.
