  • Unpacking and exploring the confusion and differing views on solid wall insulation, covering areas such as breathability and moisture movement in solid walls, thermal performance of solid walls, types of insulation materials and the most suitable installation techniques.

  • Addressing the barriers to installation including high up-front costs, technical complexities and the disruption to the occupants.

  • The Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation (ECO), and the increase in solid wall insulation predicted by UK installation trials.

  • Case studies from different property types and areas, and results of recent trials involving new approaches and materials.
