Holyrood Park
Second in a series of three walks. Built in the 1540s by James V of Scotland, the 5 mile long boundary wall that surrounds Holyrood Park has its own story to tell. Join a Ranger to find out more about this Scheduled Ancient Monument and how the local communities utilised the land.

Join a Ranger on a 3 hour boundary wall walk (moderately graded) exploring the historical background and ownership of the land/park.



Time: 12 noon - 3.00 pm.

Meeting Place: Holyrood Park Education Centre

Route: Education Centre, Palace, Parliament, Dumbiedykes, Kaimes Head, Education Centre

Bring: Warm, waterproof clothing and sensible footwear (with grips). A snack and drink.

Toilets: At the Education Centre

Suitability: This route involves rough tracks and steep inclines. May not be suitable for children under 16 years.

Parking: At the Broad Pavement Car Park. At the Broad Pavement Car Park. Sunday road closure mean that access to the car park is from Holyrood Road or the Scottish Parliament entrances only.
