owners and occupiers

A listed building

Many of Scotland’s listed buildings and ancient monuments are in private ownership. This means that the custodians of our past are people like you.

In Scotland, there are some 47,000 listed buildings, less than 2 per cent of the country’s buildings. Being listed is a mark of quality and looking after your listed building will protect your investment and the nation’s historic environment.
