Consultation on Historic Scotland's Draft Gaelic Language Plan
Consultation now closed
In accordance with The Gaelic Language (Scotland) Act 2005, Historic Scotland is legally required to produce a Gaelic Language Plan which details the work that we, as an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government, intend to undertake over a five year period which will put in place structures and initiatives to enable us to play our part in ensuring that Gaelic has a sustainable future in Scotland.
Our aim in developing this Plan is to encourage wider recognition of the unique and continuing contribution of Gaelic to Scottish life. We plan to achieve this by supporting the use and learning of Gaelic within Historic Scotland, and to promote it further through our interaction with other organisations, stakeholders and customers across Scotland, and where possible, throughout the world.
