Flying a biplane

A Celebration of the Centuries

This weekend, 9 and 10 of August, Neil Geddes will take to the skies above Fort George as part of our Celebration of the Centuries.

We caught up with Neil recently to find out more about his role in flying a replica SE5A Biplane built by his own hands. Here’s what he had to tell us:

You can watch Neil this Saturday and Sunday in addition to over 250 performers on the ground bringing 2,000 years of Scottish history to life. Highlights of the  award-winning event  include:

A grand opening parade

A restored Douglas C-47 Dakota aircraft with a parachute team leaping from the aircraft over Fort George

A bustling 1940s area, with swing band and dancers

The Battle of Bannockburn 1314 re-enactment

The Rise of the Suffragettes: Pre-First World War
